About Cannon Salvage

The Cannon Companies

The Cannon family of companies began in 1972, in the state of Ohio, when John P. and Alice S. Cannon established what was to become the parent company: Cannon Structures, Inc. Over the years, each of John and Alice's seven children has participated in the business, and four of their sons work full-time for the company today.

In 1993, after over twenty years operating as a successful construction company, the Cannons redirected their efforts toward reclaimed wood when they commenced the salvage of Douglas Fir piling and timbers and Redwood decking from a 12-mile-long railroad trestle in the Great Salt Lake in Utah. This effort resulted in the birth of their Trestlewood division. With one of the largest inventories of reclaimed wood in the United States, Trestlewood offers an unmatched depth and breadth of vintage wood products.

Cannon Salvage

In 2007, the Cannons established Cannon Salvage, Inc. to purchase the assets of one of its trusted suppliers, Cliftons Barn Wood Company. Kyle Clifton, the owner of CBWC, became the General Manager of Cannon Salvage. The creation of Cannon Salvage extends the Cannon Companies wood salvaging and processing capabilities into the Midwest and allows the Cannon Companies to better meet the needs of its customers.

Cannon Salvage specializes in the dismantling and preservation of materials from barns and other historic structures. It also now offers a broad range of products for sale, including frames for reassembly, wholesale batches, and other unique items. In addition, it is an authorized reseller of all Trestlewood brand flooring, timber and lumber product lines.

Whether its for help in removing a historic structure, purchasing some of our unique materials, or simply to say hello and see what we do, we'd love to hear from you. Please feel free to call, email, or pay us a visit in person!
