Table Top / Countertop Lumber - Product Info

Trestlewood does not build table tops or countertops. That being said, we have sold lots of lumber that has been used to create some really cool table tops/countertops. This page features several lumber products that we believe (largely based on what we have seen our customers do) have the potential to make some stunning table tops and countertops for you.

There are 3 main ways for you to purchase lumber from Trestlewood for use in making table tops or countertops:

Approach #1: Purchase a barcoded unit of choice from "Pick a Specific In-Stock Unit"
You can see photos of various available units and pick the one (or more than one) that best meets your needs. This approach is often less expensive per board foot than Approach #2; it also generally gives you more ability to select lumber width(s). On the other side of the equation, dimensions can be nominal; lengths (and sometimes widths and thicknesses) are more likely to be mixed; and the units are sometimes less processed (the lumber might not be kiln dried, edged, and/or cut to a specific target thickness, for example.)

Approach #2: Purchase one of our most popular table top or countertop lumber options in "Shop Standard Configurations"
This approach does not give you the ability to see photos of the exact unit you will be sent, but it often gives you more consistency in thickness and length, more control of the quantity ordered, and lumber that is closer to ready for use in building table tops or countertops. Widths are determined by Trestlewood (based on lumber in stock.) To simplify the quantity calculation process, table top and countertop board footages (unlike most lumber board footages) are based on actual (rather than nominal) thickness and widths. How much lumber is needed to produce a table top that is 4' wide, 10' long, and 1.5" thick? 4' x 10' = 40 sf x 1.5 = 60 board feet (bf) of lumber. We would recommend that you add a generous waste factor to give yourself plenty of flexibility.

The lumber products featured in "Shop Standard Configurations" are quoted as kiln dried for 1 kiln charge. Many of them are quoted as edged. Many of the products allow you to specify length. All of these conventions are designed to help make it as easy as possible for you to order lumber that will work well for your project.

Approach #3: Purchase any other lumber (or timber) products offered elsewhere on www.trestlewood.com with any added processing you would like us to do, then take it from there yourself.
