In general, Hand Hewn Siding is installed with chinking in between the slabs. It may be installed with "tails" which can be used to create dove tails at each of the corners of the house.
Hand Hewn Siding is mixed species and random width, from 8" to 12". The siding on your project will look as if it has stood the test of a hundred winters, because, well, it has.
