HarborAged offers a warm, brown-toned alternative to the gray tones of NatureAged. The process begins the same way—new lumber is nailed to pallets and exposed to the elements, initiating a natural aging process. From there, large rusty bolts, washers, and other metal pieces are scattered on the exposed faces of the HarborAged lumber. The lumber is then treated with a saltwater spray—a nod to the Salty Fir timbers we milled from millions of board feet of Douglas Fir piling pulled from the Great Salt Lake over many years. The resulting brown hues, marked by distinctive dark streaks from the interaction of saltwater and rusted metal, continue to weather and mellow over time.

Color
Expect a spectrum of warm brown tones, accented by occasional darker streaking from the presence of metal during the treatment process. HarborAged without metal treatment is available upon request. HarborAged is typically lighter and more varied in tone than our ThermalAged product line. HarborAged Lumber will continue to weather and otherwise change over time (especially if untreated and used in an exterior application.)
With Metal Staining
Our original HarborAged coloring—brown tones with attractive dark streaks.
Without Metal Staining
A more consistent, streak-free appearance, available upon request.
Unmilled / Milled
HarborAged Lumber can be left unmilled or can be milled into a variety of profiles, including T&G and Shiplap.
HarborAged Timbers
HarborAged Timbers are available as a standalone option and as a component of WeatheredBlend Timber packages.
