ThermalAged Pergola Kits

ThermalAged Pergola Kits come with the timbers, lumber, hardware, and instructions necessary to build your pergola. The kit designs have been stamped by a licensed engineer. The timbers and lumber have been run through a thermal modification process in a thermal kiln at high temperatures to give the material rich brown tones as well as enhanced dimensional stability and durability. The thermal modification process also reduces the wood's bending strength and increases its brittleness. Timbers (posts, beams, and rafters) are typically put in the thermal kiln for the same amount of time as the 2" lumber and should not be considered fully thermally modified all the way to the core.

The difference between the Sawtooth design and the Teton design is the size of the posts, beams, and rafters used in the pergola. The Sawtooth design uses 6x6 posts, 6x10 beams, and 4x8 rafters, whereas the Teton design uses 8x8 posts, 8x12 beams, and 6x8 rafters. Both designs use 2x6 top slats. They both have the same range of pergola footprints available, ranging from 10'x10' to 16'x16' in 2' increments.
