Each timber is one-of-a-kind, with unique characteristics from its prior use (pockets, wear, texture, etc.) and from weathering. Whether you need timbers for trusses or a frame or a single rustic mantel, Hand Hewn timbers deliver a rugged authenticity that simply cannot be matched.

Factories, warehouse, mills, army depots, storage buildings, schools, mines, trestles, drydocks and all manner of other structures were built across the Western United States and Canada using strong, straight and beautiful Douglas Fir timbers. Trestlewood reclaims these beautiful, historic timbers and offers them to its customers for use as weathered timbers, resawn timbers, trusses and frames. You simply can't beat the beauty, stability and history of a frame or trusses built with timbers cut from reclaimed Douglas Fir.

HarborAged Brown timbers are typically sprayed with water from the Great Salt Lake (often with metal on them) to give them an aged appearance with primarily brown color tones.

Trailblazer Weathered Timbers are one of Trestlewood's more rustic weathered timber products. They have similar characteristics to hand-hewn timbers but without the hew marks. Trailblazer Weathered Timbers are generally reclaimed from vintage barns and other agricultural structures. They are mixed species and typically have a wide range of colors and other characteristics (including pockets and notches from original joinery.)

Trestlewood's Rustic Fir Timbers are generally resawn from nature-damaged (fire, insect, etc.) logs, from by-products of sawmill, logging or other wood-processing operations or from new logs/lumber. Often the logs from which these timbers are cut are standing dead and are more stable than timbers cut from green logs.
