Trestlewood's Oak Hand-Hewn Timbers are salvaged from a variety of hand-built structures (barns, mills, elevators) which were often the first structures built in a region. Each Oak Hand-Hewn Timber has unique characteristics from its prior use and from weathering.

Characteristics
- Wide range of characteristics depending on source and other factors
- Weathered surfacing (degree of weathering varies)
- Original timber surface was hewn by broad axe or adze and has been weathered and worn over time
- Coloration is varies in combinations of browns and grays
Dimensions
- Standard cross-sections are generally up to 10x10
- Standard lengths are up to 16"
- Hand-hewn timbers generally have square dimensions
- The more latitude the customer can provide in acceptable timber sizes, the better able Trestlewood is to meet the customer's timber needs in an economical and timely manner.
